The Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, a full-sized station wagon, was one of the most successful models from Oldsmobile and remained in production for two decades, from 1971 to 1992. It was the first full-size Oldsmobile station wagon since 1964. Before General Motors introduced Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser as separate model, the name Custom Cruiser had also been used from 1940 - 1947 for their 90 , 96 and 98 models. Across three generations, the Custom Cruiser shared platorms with the Buick, Pontiac, and Chevrolet full-size wagons, it was was completely redesigned for 1991. Sales did improve over the 1991 model year, with some 7,663 Custom Cruisers sold for the 1991 model run. Sales slipped to just over 4,300 in 1992, however, and GM discontinued production.
